We looked at this number on a tens frame and talked about the different patterns we could see. We turned these patterns into addition sentences:
3+2=5
2+3=5
4+1=5
1+4=5
5+0=5
0+5=5
Our challenge this week is to learn these facts and see how quickly we can recall them!
After that we looked at something called the INVERSE.
We learned that this means the opposite. The inverse of addition is subtraction. We then changed our number sentences around to make subtraction problems.
We talked about subtraction in more detail and we remembered that we always had to start with the bigger number.
1+4=5 then became 5-4=1.
2+3=5 became 5-3=2
Can you remember all of the addition and subtraction facts for 5?
