Latest on our project Make Save and Buy

Big Thank you to everyone for their support to raise £256 and 5p. It took us long  time to count all our money. We had to use two 100 grid squares to count our two hundred. We  added all the groups of tens on our white boards.

Next steps

Pupils are planning now how they would like to spend their money in summer term.
Thank you very much for your support.

Project Make, Save and Buy.

Links to PSHE , Art, English and Maths:

Purpose of the project:
  • This project is based on learning real life contacts of the world of work to help them understand where different choices could take them in future.
  • Children are aware of equality of roles within the family, males, females entitled to jobs.
How did it start?

  • As a class  we had discussions what jobs do different people have and how do they help us?
  • Then children discussed and wrote about their ambitions, what they would like to be when they grow up. Children discussed and wrote what skills do they need now.

What did children do?

We started our project to learn that in real life people work hard to earn money,  So children would have some understanding that in order to enjoy treats or buy something they need to work hard to earn money.

First they had to design their products to sell on mothers day sales.

Children have decided to have a party with bouncy castle if we made enough money.

Making: Children worked hard to make cards, clay vases and bracelets.

On Thursday 12.3.15 and 13.3.15 children will be selling their products that they are very proud of.

Please come and support us !!!!
