The great of fire of London - creative art afternoon

1.1 have been getting arty this afternoon, learning about how the fire spread so quickly in London.
We have used a range of materials including tissue paper and wax crayons.

Can you guess what will happen to the wax crayons when we heat them with a hairdryer? Watch this space.

Fire service visit Wednesday 9th November

We were very lucky to have had a visit from our local fire station Sheldon. The fire service told us some interesting facts about the fire service a long time ago.
We talked about how people had to pay for the fire service. If you were poor then you could not afford to pay someone to put out your house fire.

We were shown what to do if you were on fire STOP,DROP and ROLL!

We identified dangers around a house.

We then looked at the uniform they use today as many years ago they did not have special clothes to protect them in a fire.

Finally we got to try on the uniforms!

Thank you
