Super projects

Well done to all of the children who produced some lovely projects about The Great Fire of London over the half term holiday.  We loved sharing your super work!

Aston Hall

Today we enjoyed our trip to Aston Hall.

First we went into the classroom and took part in lots of creative activities.

Then we had lots of fun playing outside in the lovely grounds of Aston Hall.

After that it was lunch time.

In the afternoon we were shown around Aston Hall.  We went into the entrance hall first and looked at all of the beautiful decorations.

Next we went to the kitchen,  We learned about where the Great Fire of London started in Pudding Lane Bakery.  Jamie and Julia enjoyed dressing up as Thomas Farriner (the baker who caused the fire to start) and a servant girl (who sadly died in the fire).

After that we went to the bedroom.  This is where Samuel Pepys was sleeping as the fire started and a servant called Jane warned him about the fire.  Jackson and Anayah dressed up for us.

The final room we went to was called the Long Room.  We learned some more details about the fire and how it spread very quickly.  We also learned how people tried to put it out.  Kenzo made a super King!

Goodbye Alfie!

We were very sad to say goodbye to Alfie on Friday.  He is moving to a new home and a new school.  We had a party to say goodbye to him!

The cook made us some delicious party food and we had lots of fun dancing with Alfie!

Winter walk

In English we have been thinking about recounts.  On Thursday we went on a walk around school to look for signs of winter.  This week we are going to write a recount to describe our walk.
